Personal development

If you want to extend your knowledge, brush up on some skills, or simply have fun in the holidays, Hackney has a huge range of activities for you to do. A good starting point is the Young Hackney website. Most activities are free and can look great on your CV.

Watch out for extra fun ways to get involved during the Discover Young Hackney Festival between May and September

Young Hackney

Young Hackney is a single integrated service for all young people aged 8-19.

At Young Hackney Youth Hubs, you can enjoy free sports, media and arts activities, take part in accredited programmes such as Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, or volunteer for projects that will benefit your community.

Young Hackney workers also provide advice and support, which will enable you to reach your full potential from education.

They’ll provide you with advice if you have concerns about your health; if you have problems at home; or if you need help with other issues such as training, employment, personal finance or accommodation. If you need extra support, they’ll make sure you can access the right services.
