Additional support

Sometimes you may need additional support to help you keep on track. The organisations below offer free support services to young people living in Hackney.

Health and Wellbeing Team

The Young Hackney Health & Wellbeing Team can give advice on any health-related issues including sexual health and contraception. If you need support in other areas, such as mental health, bullying and a range of other subjects, they can put you in touch with someone who can help you.

Young Hackney Substance Misuse Service

The Young Hackney Substance Misuse Service is open to anyone aged under 25. It’s free and confidential. They can give you advice and support if you’re worried about your own substance use, or if you’re worried that a friend or family member has a problem with drugs or alcohol.

You can call the confidential advice line on 020 8356 7377 (Monday - Friday 9am-5pm), email yhsms@hackney.gov.uk or visit the Young Hackney website for more information. The service has also created some podcasts on the facts about drugs and alcohol so you can make healthier and better informed choices.

Young Hackney provides you with advice if you have concerns about your health; if you have problems at home; or if you need help with other issues such as training or employment. If you need extra support, they'll make sure you can access the right services.
